This week’s post will be shorter than normal since I actually spent most of my time just catching up with some of UCF’s protocols and training for this internship! Since this internship is technically a job from the University, I went through and finished a lot of the training I haven’t had time for in the first few weeks of class. It’s hard to believe that we’re only four weeks in and I already have so much to catch up on! I managed to get through pretty much everything which was good!
I also made a post for our Instagram and Facebook thanking the collaborators and sponsors of the PRINT project to be pinned alongside the welcome and informational post. I wasn’t sure how to credit our collaborators in that first post so Dr. Beiler gave me some feedback on what to put in and how to organize what sponsors we put on what page. She ended up having me put any grants and large organizations on the first page and our partner repositories on the second page. This actually also helped with formatting since the logos all fit together the best when they were sorted in this way. I also gave UCF its own slide. I have the caption written out and am waiting for Kayla and/or Sarah to double and triple check on my tags and wording.
Next week I need to finish the new marketing plan draft I’ve been working on! I’ve been taking notes and writing down ideas, benchmarks, and thinking about how to describe our target audience, so now I just need to put it all together. I’m meeting with Kayla on Wednesday to discuss where I’m at with my work and the direction I need to go in with this project! I think one of my main goals now that I have a solid schedule is to begin working more on some transcriptions. I’ve been going to transcription Friday and I think I’m starting to understand how to decode letters some more. There are still some words and phrases I get confused on and I have the constant fear of being wrong, but part of the transcription process is teamwork and checking one another’s work so as long as I try my best and write as much as I can see it’ll start getting easier and I’ll get more confident.
